Hi there! I'm a writer and journalist focusing on race, faith and justice. My work explores difference and power across axes of race, class, gender and sexuality; it aims to critique the structures that unevenly distribute power and define some as human against others as disposable. This has included pieces on critical race theory, youth homelessness, affirmative action, queer Christians, and faith leaders in the Black Lives Matter movement. I worked at the Texas Tribune covering the 2021 critical race theory debates, and before that, I worked as the inequity and disparity reporting intern at the Connecticut Mirror. I graduated from Yale University in 2023 as a Yale Journalism Scholar with a B.A. in Ethnicity, Race and Migration, and I received the John Hersey Prize in nonfiction writing. At Yale, I served as editor in chief of the Yale Daily News Magazine, a monthly publication for narrative journalism, fiction, poetry and the arts. In 2016, I started a participatory journalism project called Austin Street Humans to build relationships with people experiencing homelessness and share about their life stories. I'm passionate about cooking Chinese food, all things Texas, and dancing in heels <3
